School life

This is what everyday school life looks like at the Mierendorff School.

All-day school with FlexGanztag

By combining education, social learning and meaningful leisure activities, school becomes a place of learning and living in equal measure, promoting continuous and individual support for pupils. A learning culture is created that takes into account the different prerequisites and needs and enables a diverse school day.

Our pupils are invited to play and exercise in a spacious, newly designed school playground that is close to nature. Many rooms have outside doors so that the children can decide for themselves whether they want to be in the group room or on the playground. The playground is, of course, always supervised.

Lunch

Our school has two large, light-flooded dining rooms where our children can eat their lunch. The menu is chosen by a food committee together with a representative of our caterer, which includes teachers, pupils and parents. At the parents’ request, a vegetarian meal can also be chosen. Allergies are also taken into account. Care is always taken to ensure that the food is varied and healthy. The menu is then displayed for all to see. At mealtimes, the teachers ensure a calm and relaxed eating atmosphere.

Our daily schedule offers children enough time to move around the large schoolyard and take part in activities and projects.
